Rep. Chris Deluzio has raised $3.8 million in the current cycle. That total exceeds the fundraising of any other Democratic House member in Pennsylvania. He is using those resources to build a statewide network ahead of the 2028 Senate race. The seat currently belongs to Sen. John Fetterman.

Deluzio, a 42-year-old Navy veteran, is seeking reelection in his western Pennsylvania district on Tuesday. He has spent the last several months campaigning for other Democrats. He raised or donated $300,000 for congressional candidates. He also contributed $350,000 for state candidates and $65,000 to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. His campaign says these efforts help him understand what a statewide race requires.

Fetterman has not decided whether to seek a second term. He has faced criticism from his party for supporting Republican policies. Some Democrats call him an absentee senator. The race for his seat is expected to be competitive. Other potential candidates include Rep. Brendan Boyle and State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta.

Deluzio says he is asked about the Senate race constantly. He told reporters after a rally in Dublin that his decision depends on three factors. He wants to know if his family can support the role. He wants to know if he can win. He wants to know if he will be the best senator possible. He said Fetterman's decision does not change his own calculations at this stage.

Larry Ceisler, a public affairs executive in Philadelphia, said Deluzio has built a strong donor base. Ceisler noted that Deluzio has held fundraisers in the city and is known to local activists. Ceisler said this network is essential for a candidate from the west of the state. He added that Deluzio is helping candidates without taking money away from his own potential rivals.

Deluzio's fundraising increased after President Trump targeted him in 2025. Trump accused Deluzio and five other Democrats of seditious behavior. The president called their comments punishable by death. Deluzian has positioned himself as a populist voice in Congress. He joined a group called the New Economic Patriots to push back against corporate influence.

The congressman has traveled to eastern Pennsylvania to support local candidates. He spoke for Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie and other Democrats. He criticized the administration's war in Iran and rising costs. He said voters want fundamental change, not small policy adjustments. He plans to finalize his decision after the midterm elections are complete.
