Toddler snack recall: Tractor Wheels bars withdrawn over choking risks
The FDA advises parents to stop serving the soft-baked treats after reports of complete airway blockages in young children.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, regarding a popular toddler snack that poses a serious safety threat.
The agency reported several cases where children experienced complete airway obstruction and were unable to breathe after eating the product. Once Upon a Farm is voluntarily recalling all of its Tractor Wheels soft-baked bars to address the hazard.
The FDA stated that the bars form a dry, sticky mass when chewed. This texture can render standard choking interventions, such as back blows and the Heimlich maneuver, ineffective in some instances. Several reported incidents required emergency medical response and hospital observation.
The company, which sells the bars in apple, sweet potato, spinach, strawberry, pumpkin, beet, banana, and cauliflower varieties, confirmed it had received three specific reports of the choking risk. The recall covers all flavors, sizes, and expiration dates.
CEO John Foraker said the firm is reformulating the bars to ensure they meet the highest standards. He added that the company aims to drive systemic improvement in childhood nutrition by doing what is right for its customers.
Shoppers can find the recalled items at major retailers including Costco, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com. Customers should return the unopened packages to their point of purchase for a full refund or contact the company via email. No other products from the brand are affected.
