The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night to take a 3-0 lead in the 2026 World Series.

The game turned on a single defensive play in the fifth inning. Christian Yelich ran hard to second base and was ruled safe on review. That call preserved the inning, allowing Milwaukee to load the bases. From there, the Brewers scored eight runs with two outs. They collected seven consecutive hits without a home run. The rally erased any doubt about the series outcome.

Milwaukee’s offense has dominated the series through contact and execution. The team has scored 18 runs compared to Tampa Bay’s six. Only one of those runs came from a home run, hit by Sal Frelick in Game 2. That pattern continued in Game 3, where the team reached double digits in scoring for the first time in a World Series game without a home run since 2014. The Brewers also became the first team to lead a World Series game by 10-plus runs through five innings since the 2007 Red Sox.

Jackson Chourio, 22, went 4-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base. This was his third consecutive multi-hit game in the series. He became the 26th player in history to achieve that feat and the youngest to do so. He is the youngest player with four hits in a World Series game since Joe Garagiola in 1946.

The series is now set for a Game 4 on Tuesday at Tropicana Field. The Brewers have not announced their starting pitcher. Analysts expect a bullpen-heavy approach given the team’s recent performance. Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill are likely candidates for high-leverage moments. Shane Drohan and Dustin May may face the Rays’ lineup first. The bullpen will benefit from back-to-back off days following the blowout.

Tampa Bay will use Griffin Jax as their starter for Game 4. Jax is the team’s fourth-ranked pitcher in their rotation. The Rays must win to avoid becoming the first team swept in this series since 2019. Their offense must score to keep the season alive. The game will be the final chance for Tampa Bay to stay in the championship race.

The Brewers have scored 15 straight runs since the Rays took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning of Game 2. The 10 runs in Game 3 tie the franchise record for most in a postseason game, matching Milwaukee’s output in Game 1 of the 1982 World Series. The eight two-out runs in the fifth inning are the second-most in postseason history, behind the 2020 Dodgers’ 10 runs in the first inning of NLCS Game 3.

The next scheduled event is World Series Game 4 on Tuesday. The location is Tropicana Field. The Brewers need one win to secure their first franchise title. The Rays need one win to force a Game 5.
