Charles Coriaty, a 63-year-old resident of Fishers, Indiana, must post $2.5 million in cash to secure his release from custody. A judge set this bond requirement as part of his formal charging process in Hamilton Circuit Court on Wednesday.

Coriaty was preliminarily charged on Monday by the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. On Wednesday, he faced 20 low-level felony counts. These include 10 counts of child exploitation, seven counts of possession of child pornography, and three counts of possession of child sex abuse material.

The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTip from SmugMug. This online photo hosting platform alerted investigators to a user account. The tip included approximately 175 images, many of which used artificial intelligence applications to make clothed photos of young people appear nude.

Detectives executed warrants to search Coriaty’s SmugMug account and his home. They found additional child sexual abuse material in the digital account. A search of his residence revealed computer folders with names such as “Teen Models,” “Braces,” and “School Portraits” that contained more images.

Coriaty is currently held in the Hamilton County jail in Noblesville. The task force, based at the Fishers Police Department, includes detectives from six local police departments, two county sheriff’s offices, and U.S. Homeland Security. The group investigates internet crimes against children in Hamilton, Hancock, Madison, and Tipton counties.

The task force issued a news release on Wednesday detailing the charges. It did not specify the exact date the bond amount was determined by the court.
