Choi, 35, has been fired from Inova Health System after prosecutors filed five counts of aggravated sexual battery against him. The former physical therapist is scheduled to enter a plea on Dec. 2 in Fairfax County Circuit Court. Each count carries a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.

The charges stem from alleged assaults committed between 2022 and 2025. Choi was originally arrested in September 2025 following a report that he assaulted a patient during an appointment at Inova’s Center for Personalized Health campus in Merrifield. The initial complaint described an incident where Choi took the patient’s phone after noticing she was recording the session. He allegedly threatened to keep the phone if she did not delete the video. Police never recovered the device.

Court documents detail a separate incident from March 2022 discovered via a search warrant. In that case, the complainant stated Choi pressed his erection against her while she had her hands on the wall. In later sessions, he allegedly touched her over her clothes and placed his hand down the back of her pants. A third woman reported assaults during four appointments in November 2024. She described Choi closing a privacy curtain, having her bend down, and rubbing his genitals against her backside before resuming the appointment normally.

Two additional women reported incidents on Oct. 20, 2023, and Aug. 19, 2024. Specific details for these complaints were not listed in the court records. Choi initially faced six counts of aggravated sexual battery, robbery, and abduction in Fairfax County General District Court. Prosecutors dropped those charges when the case moved to the circuit court, replacing them with the current five counts.

Choi is currently free on a $35,000 bond. The Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office told FFXnow that scheduling a plea hearing indicates Choi is expected to enter a guilty plea. The hearing will also cover a waiver of his right to have the felony cases presented to a grand jury.

Inova placed Choi on administrative leave immediately after his arrest. A spokesperson confirmed today that his employment has been terminated. Court documents indicate he was working at an unnamed restaurant as of late last year.
